“Being 58, so the choice could be mine in a few years, it's uncertain. Is a decision required immediately? If so, I wouldn't return. Fortunately, I don’t have to do that. I'll wait and observe what the future brings.”
What Would Lure Him Back?
Pressed on which situations would have to unfold to draw him back to the dugout, Klopp admitted he was not instantly drawn to such a return. “I'm not entirely sure, I love what I do right now,” he commented. “No longing for management; No desire to be under bad weather for lengthy sessions; I don’t miss going to media briefings multiple times weekly or doing numerous chats each week.
“The locker room isn't missed in that context, yet sharing a meal with the players enjoying conversation, that’s nice. Success was frequent meaning regularly great spirits in the building. Remaining with me is Van Dijk's laughter vividly recalled for example.”
Commending Arne Slot
He spoke highly of the current boss, praising him for the tweaks that took the title last campaign. The team has suffered four consecutive matches in every contest following significant transfers, yet he dismissed the notion it could be a decline.
“[Liverpool have] an incredible striker like Florian Wirtz, you will all eat your words if you use the wrong words. He’s an incredible talent. [Hugo] Ekitike, excellent performer. This is a well-built balanced team. No need for concern regarding the Reds, they will be fine.”
Emotional Tribute for Diogo Jota
He shared movingly about the death of the Portuguese star, a 2020 acquisition while in charge, along with the consequences at the club. The forward lost his life in a vehicle collision alongside his brother recently.
“Can you substitute somebody like Diogo? This isn't just regarding the player himself, his personality mattered. I struggle to conceive the dressing room without him in it. Putting it into words is tough about it. It was an incredible shock for all the boys as well. Not a single person might employ it as an excuse though it's a fact. You walk in a dressing room where he was omnipresent. Coping with it on a personal level is difficult. Overwhelming.”
