The visionary game developer, who helped create the globally famous video game Call of Duty, has tragically died in a vehicle crash in Los Angeles, California at the age of 55.

The tragic news was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the video game company which he helped establish.

The influential game designer passed away following his car crashed and burst into flames on a freeway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday morning, according to.

"This is a heartbreaking loss, and our hearts are with Vince's family, his family, and the countless individuals inspired by his work," an official with Electronic Arts stated.
